Fading Colours

As the Sun sets,
Purple, pink and blue blend;
My heart fills with something
that feels too much like relief.
The moon shines,
Through a sky too confused,
To decide which colour it wants to be.
But my heart fills with joy,
Seeing that uncertainty can be beautiful too.
I take out my camera,
And try to capture that feeling,
But alas, I never had much skill with a camera,
These words are all I have.
The Sun seems to have fully set,
Gone away beyond the horizon,
But its colours refuse to say goodbye.
They hang behind,
like consolation to hurt,
And they let me breath again.
Give me the power to let go,
Even if it's just for a few moments.
Atleast in this moment,
the air doesn't feel as heavy,
And my head and my heart,
don't hurt as much.
These fading colours,
Remind me of the joyful moments,
I have been lucky enough to live,
I wish I could capture those sweet feelings too in a camera,
But alas, some wishes aren't meant to come true.
But what I do have,
Is the promise of another tomorrow,
After the inevitable night,
And the bittersweet longing for the fading colours of an oncoming night.
P.s. Good moments, like these fading colours, can't be captured or held in time. But what one can do, is truly feel and live these moments, and give them a place in your heart to recide in forever. These good moments would fade away, but there memory would be left with you to cherish, in the dark. And the dark also comes with a promise of a new tomorrow, at the end of which these fading colours would come again, and the cycle will go on and on forever - a bittersweet circle.
